Tragic Incident: Young Woman Takes Her Life During Video Call in Thane

A heartbreaking incident occurred in the Titwal area of Thane district, Maharashtra, where a 23-year-old woman reportedly died by suicide while on a video call with her boyfriend on August 28.


The woman had initially connected with her boyfriend through Instagram, leading to a friendship that developed into a romantic relationship. Following the tragedy, local authorities have detained the boyfriend for questioning. The victim's family claims that he has a history of deceiving other women in a similar manner.


Circumstances Leading to the Incident

According to police reports, the boyfriend had taken the woman's jewelry under various pretenses. When she requested its return, he allegedly began to threaten her with the release of private videos.


Unable to cope with the ongoing harassment, the woman tragically decided to end her life by hanging herself, as stated by a senior police official.


Investigation Status

The police confirmed that the woman was cremated without an autopsy, and as of now, no formal complaint has been filed regarding the incident.


Related Drug Arrests in Delhi

In a separate case, the Delhi Police arrested a woman named Afsana, aged 23, from the Kalandra colony in Bhalswa Dairy, recovering 300 grams of heroin during a raid based on a tip-off.


Following her arrest, two additional suspects, Narender (37) and Jyoti, also known as Manshi (35), were apprehended, leading to the recovery of a total of 712 grams of heroin from them. The total amount of heroin seized in these operations reached 1,012 grams.
